Good FL Trip

Oct 11th, 2008

Coach Brian McSparron commented after Saturday night’s game, that the team came out with two big road victories. In the Florida game, we were slow at the start due to our travels down from Atlanta but turned it up in the 2nd period and took control of the game. Maxx Lucas, getting his first shut out of the season, was obviously the star of the game. He turned away 37 shots and kept his focus.

Saturday night’s game, we did it with speed. Ryan Fritz, Albert Park, and Brent O’Neill were skating circles around their opponents – skating up and down the ice and getting quality shots. Fritz got the first hat trick in the last two years and it was great to see him step up. The goal by Fritz with 20 seconds into the 2nd period, was a back breaker for the Eagles. The hostile crowd of over 1000 pumped us up and gave us energy. We are sorry that the game was shortened but the outcome was apparent. We can now focus on a good Clemson team that we will visit next Friday night. The stars of the game for the Gator’s game were Maxx Lucas, Allen Mazerolle, and Drew Baker. The three stars of the game against Embry Riddle were Ryan Fritz, Albert Park and defenseman B.J. Stapleton for controlling the defensive tempo.
